Job Description

The Lab and Analysis Engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop comprehensive test plans to address customer issues.
  • Develop chain system models using multi-body dynamics simulation software (e.g., ADAMS, SIMDRIVE, VALDYN, GT-SUITE).
  • Analyze system and component performance in simulation software, correlating results with real-world or lab tests.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for preprocessing and postprocessing large data files.
  • Communicate and document engineering simulation or test results, providing technical direction as necessary.
  • Operate engine dynamometers, motoring stands, and other test equipment.
  • Set up chain system and component tests using appropriate hardware, sensors, and data acquisition tools.
  • Test chain drive performance in engines and other applications.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Test and Analysis Engineer will:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • Proficient understanding of internal combustion engines; capable of assembling and disassembling engines to install timing drives and instrumentation.
  • Knowledgeable in data acquisition, instrumentation, and engineering experimentation techniques.
  • Willingness to travel to customer or test sites for chain system evaluations, typically about 6 times per year for 1 to 2 weeks per trip.
  • Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software such as Solidworks, Ansys, and NX for designing and analyzing parts.
