Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee construction projects focusing on interiors, federal facilities, and data centers in New England, DC, VA, NC,SC, MD, NY, and TX. As a Traveling Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects by managing on-site activities, coordinating with subcontractors, and maintaining a commitment to quality and safety. This position requires frequent travel, and the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management with a focus on Life Science and data center environments. Job Description



  1. Project Oversight:
    • Manage day-to-day on-site operations for construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and budgets.
    • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring their work aligns with project specifications and quality standards.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.


  2. Federal Project Management:
    • Familiarity with federal construction regulations, specifications, and compliance requirements.
    • Ensure all aspects of federal projects meet or exceed established standards, including security, accessibility, and environmental considerations.


  3. Data Center Expertise:
    • Demonstrate proficiency in overseeing construction projects within data center environments, including knowledge of specialized equipment, systems, and safety protocols.
    • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of data center construction projects.


  4. Quality and Safety Compliance:
    • Uphold and enforce high-quality standards throughout the construction process.
    • Implement and monitor safety protocols to create a secure working environment, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.


  5. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
    • Collaborate with the project management team to provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and solutions.


  6. Travel:
    • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to various project sites as needed for extended stays for project duration.

The Successful Applicant



  1. Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
    • Proven experience as a Superintendent in construction, with a focus on federal projects and data centers.


  2. Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
    • Knowledge of federal construction regulations and data center construction best practices.


  3. Certifications:
    • Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, and others are highly desirable.


  4. Communication Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively.


  5. Problem-Solving:
    • Proven ability to identify issues, analyze situations, and implement effective solutions.


  6. Leadership:
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage on-site teams effectively.
