About Our Client

We are seeking an experienced Utility Project Manager to lead transmission and distribution (T&D) projects in the Texas Panhandle. You will oversee projects from planning through commissioning, managing budgets, schedules, field execution, and client communication. This role is ideal for a candidate with high-voltage project experience (69kV-345kV) and a proven record of success in EPC, EPCm, or direct utility project delivery.

Job Description

Lead T&D utility projects including:

  • Substations: 69kV-345kV
  • Transmission lines: 69kV-345kV
  • Distribution networks: 12kV-69kV
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Coordinate with utilities, engineers, contractors, and vendors for smooth project execution
  • Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and material submittals
  • Oversee field construction, commissioning, and energization of T&D assets
  • Ensure compliance with NERC standards, utility regulations, and safety protocols
  • Monitor risk, change orders, and technical issues while keeping stakeholders informed
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers, field staff, and project teams
  • Maintain project documentation, reporting, and closeout packages

The Successful Applicant

A successful Utility Project Manager should have:

  • 5+ years of T&D project management experience
  • Hands-on experience with high-voltage projects (69kV-345kV)
  • Knowledge of EPC/EPCm, design-build, or utility project delivery
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of utility standards, permitting, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
