Job Description

This position will lead the strategy and operations for our Client's Engineering team, focusing on scaling up the Direct Recycling technology from pilot line through commercial scale, including site selection for the processing facility. In this role, the successful candidate will put together the strategies for multiple projects, aligning them toward the core technology and business goals. Additionally, the position will partner daily with the CTO and work closely with cross functional teams to ensure that the technical aspects of large-scale commercial development projects are delivered on time and to budget.

  • Understands thoroughly and oversees our Client's recycling facility expansion project conception, design, and planning, including lead the project team in site selection, develop matrix and strategies
  • Lead Construction Manager to plan and develop pre-construction strategy, monitor the construction phase on the approach to the expansion Program
  • Moderate and delegate the development and engineering, ensures that engineering team decisions such as staffing, development, organization, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organizations business plan and vision.
  • Plan, build and retain (hire, develop, inspire, manage) teams of engineers, chart progress and contribute to their career growth within the company
  • Responsible for ensuring the product vision is executed through team leadership and collaboration
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet organizational goals while supplying expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems.
  • Plan and development budgets for the engineering department specifically, including planning for capital expenses, managing costs to budget on an ongoing basis
  • Executes and scales projects to achieve production goals
  • Be responsible for ensuring that detailed project plans are in place with milestones identified and risks identified and managed
  • Work internally with engineers and other management teams to develop the company strategy and products
  • Developing standards and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met and consistent
  • Recommending technological developments and improvements inefficiency
  • Ensure safe and environmentally sustainable operations as uncompromised priorities

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering with minimum of 15 years of industrial experience, preferably in chemical industry or chemical consulting project management related industry
  • Proven track record of success and growth should include at least 10 years of management experience including Director level
  • A deep technical background in chemical engineering and the ability to lead an organization (build and oversee of a 30+ person engineering group)
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator with excellent knowledge of operations, chemistry, process development and process scale-up
  • Experience with deploying capital and new facility builds
  • Ability to create clear, strategic long-term plans for the Engineering department, then identify, onboard, and manage the people and assets who execute those plans
  • Strong written, verbal, and analytical skill
  • Proficiency in the areas: estimating, scheduling, budget/cost control, financial reporting, and internal/external relationships
  • Driven, dependable, self-managed individual with focused attention to detail
  • PMP or PE preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite
