Our client is the key development arm for a recognized Multifamily GC/Development firm. They looking for an individual who works well as a team player with an innovative mindset.They have been in business for over 10 years and have seen outstanding growth in the last 2 years.

Job Description

  • In partnership with the divisional President, develop operational metrics and strategy to meet team goals
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, direction, and supervision to the Development Operations team
  • Oversee the operations of the Development division, implementing and managing standard operating procedures, approval workflows, and efficient utilization of technology & systems
  • Complete review of proposed projects to include project entitlements, purchase agreements, and Proforma analysis, to ensure pursued projects meet the company's success criteria & align with strategy
  • Communicate and coordinate with owners, stakeholders, and other departments to define project requirements and constraints and create execution strategy
  • Oversee the project design process, confirming financial feasibility & constructability of design scheme
  • Support Developers in working with community members, government bodies and other interested parties to obtain necessary project permits during the entitlement and permitting processes
  • Identify project exposures and develop contingency plans to reduce and/or eliminate risk
  • Approve, track, and manage the change order process for Development projects
  • Manage the tracking and reporting of project status against goals, objectives, budget, and timelines
  • Lead the budget process for Development projects and complete ongoing financial reviews to manage budget to actual variance and project margins
  • Support Development team in managing external partners and fostering relationships with architects, engineers, and other consultants
  • Lead research on local, state, and federal regulations that may impact development and new construction
  • Support Developers with lead generation to maintain a successful project backlog
  • Partner with Property Management & Construction leadership to identify operational and management issues and opportunities and benefits relating to development design and construction
  • Participate in the identification, feasibility analysis and negotiation of real estate acquisitions & dispositions

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Engineering, Finance, or related field of study
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role within real estate / development industry
  • 10+ years of experience leading and/or managing the lifecycle of commercial real estate developments
  • Understanding of debt financing including public and/or TIF financing, public incentives, and tax credits
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel with experience creating analytical models and dashboards
  • Strategic leadership skills, negotiation skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including telephone and email communication; ability to communicate on delicate subject matter and build effective relationships with internal & external customers
  • Self-motivated with the desire to work independently and be resourceful
