My client is one of the largest global leaders of Electronic Systems Design & Manufacturing. Working closely with customers they provide innovative, integrated services and solutions to OEMs, from initial product concept to volume production.

Job Description

  • As the Vice President of Business Development, you will play a crucial role in driving the company's growth strategy, expanding its market presence, and identifying new business opportunities within the EMS industry.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth and expand the company's market share in the EMS industry.
  • Identify and prioritize new business opportunities, including potential partnerships, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.
  • Lead a team of 4-6 business development and sales representatives in identifying and pursuing new market segments and geographic regions for expansion. Serve as a player coach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and requirements to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, engineering, and operations, to develop tailored solutions for clients and address their unique challenges.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activities, and market developments to identify potential threats and opportunities for the company.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of potential business opportunities, tracking progress and reporting on key metrics to senior management.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote its brand and establish thought leadership within the EMS industry.
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to the business development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to set ambitious growth targets and develop strategies to achieve them, ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven track record of success in business development within the EMS industry, with a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends.
  • Experience leading a team of at least 4-5 direct reports. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve ambitious goals. "Player coach mentality".'
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of developing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Strong technical background within the EMS industry. Proven track record of selling into the Industrial market is highly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel both domestic and occasionally international as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and explore new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets and drive revenue growth.
