Vodafone Group Plc is the world's leading mobile telecommunications company, with a significant presence in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and the United States through the Company's subsidiary undertakings, joint ventures, associated undertakings and investments.

The Group's mobile subsidiaries operate under the brand name 'Vodafone'. In the United States the Group's associated undertaking operates as Verizon Wireless. During the last few years, Vodafone Group has entered into arrangements with network operators in countries where the Group does not hold an equity stake. Under the terms of these Partner Market Agreements, the Group and its partner operators co-operate in the development and marketing of global products and services, with varying levels of brand association.

As at 31 March 2010, based on the registered customers of mobile telecommunications ventures in which it had ownership interests at that date, the Group had 341 million customers, excluding paging customers, calculated on a proportionate basis in accordance with the Company's percentage interest in these ventures.

What is Vodafone Global Enterprise?

Vodafone Global Enterprise Limited was formed in 2007 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vodafone Group plc, a registered company incorporated in England. It provides managed communications services to its customers where mobility is at the core of the offering and is dedicated to simplifying how global customers manage their communications, wherever they do business.

Vodafone Global Enterprise has its own management structure under CEO Nick Jeffery, and reports its profits and losses within the group revenues. It has its headquarters in Newbury, UK, with a commercial presence in 31 countries, including offices in Singapore, Mumbai, Dusseldorf, Milan and New Jersey. It has the ability to deliver services in 120 countries. There are about 700 staff and the capability of doing business in 23 languages.

Vodafone has recently strengthened its telecom expense management offering through the strategic acquisition and rapid integration of Quickcomm and TnT Expense Management. This allows Vodafone Global Enterprise to offer advanced TEM services including the capability for employee self-service. It has also launched Vodafone Activity Manager, a service that proactively informs the user of a network problem either in a specific location or for a set of users, alerting them to the applied or proposed solution. Vodafone has also increased its focus on machine to machine communication, making significant investments in staff as well as establishing a dedicated M2M global service delivery platform.

In 2009 Vodafone Global Enterprise was named Best Mobile Enterprise Service by the Mobile World Congress in recognition of its leading portfolio of managed communications services.

Vodafone Global Enterprise provides MNCs with a consistent global service and a single point of contact for all communications services, including devices, pricing, billing, ordering and support.

In a highly competitive communications market Vodafone Global Enterprise provides the means to develop deeper relationships with customers by selling more services, delivered through Vodafone's market leading experience, expertise and global footprint, rather than relying on revenue from products.

Vodafone Global Enterprise extends beyond managed communications services. Customers are increasingly seeking to use communications technologies to drive operational efficiencies with new services. These services may be vertical, such as industry-specific offerings in finance and health, or they may be broader in scope, such as machine to machine (M2M) solutions.
