Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and documentation of specialized electronic hardware products. This individual will play a key role in product development activities, working closely with internal stakeholders to bring new products from concept through production while ensuring compliance with quality and performance standards.

Job Description



Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new products and enhancements using SolidWorks and other engineering tools.
  • Create and maintain technical drawings, BOMs, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, feasibility studies, and design reviews.
  • Develop testing procedures and perform product validation activities.
  • Build and evaluate prototypes for customer demonstrations and beta testing.
  • Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and support configuration management activities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, product management, vendors, and test laboratories.
  • Provide technical support for production, troubleshooting, and pre-sales initiatives.
  • Lead technical discussions and communicate project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support projects through the full product development lifecycle, including scheduling, execution, and delivery.

The Successful Applicant



Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of mechanical design engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Experience creating technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with prototype development, testing, and validation.
  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
  • Experience within aerospace, defense, electronics, RF, connectors, EMI/EMC, or related industries is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO quality systems, lean manufacturing, and military standards is a plus.
  • Comfortable working independently from limited documentation and conceptual requirements.
