Job Description

  • Inspect, test, maintain, and repair aviation life support equipment (ALSE), including but not limited to helmets, oxygen systems, survival vests, flotation devices, and parachutes
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with technical manuals, OEM specifications, and regulatory standards (FAA, DoD, or equivalent)
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and compliance documentation
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and inventory control of ALSE equipment and associated components
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support audits and regulatory inspections by maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards
  • Stay current on evolving industry standards, regulations, and equipment technologies

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience: 2-5+ years of hands-on experience working with ALSE or similar aviation safety equipment (military or civilian background preferred)
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with maintenance procedures, technical manuals, and compliance standards such as FAA regulations or military specifications
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on precision and safety when working with life-critical systems
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose issues and implement effective repairs efficiently
  • Certifications (preferred): Relevant military training (e.g., PR, AME, or equivalent), FAA certifications, or ALSE-specific training credentials
  • Communication: Clear documentation and ability to communicate technical findings with cross-functional teams
  • Work Ethic: Reliable, organized, and able to work both independently and in a team environment
