Our client is an established design-build general contractor delivering custom residential and small to mid-sized commercial projects throughout Colorado.
With architecture and construction working closely together, the business offers clients a streamlined approach from early conceptual planning and entitlements through design, documentation, and construction. The company is seeking an experienced architect who can take ownership of the architectural practice while helping shape its next stage of growth.

Job Description

The Principal Architect will lead the architectural division, owning client relationships, project delivery, and the continued growth of the practice. You will work closely with company leadership while remaining hands-on throughout the design process.

  • Lead the architectural division and help establish its future growth strategy.
  • Manage projects from conceptual design and entitlements through construction completion.
  • Develop proposals, scopes, budgets, and project estimates from conceptual information.
  • Produce and oversee comprehensive construction document sets for commercial and residential projects.
  • Lead client relationships while coordinating consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Perform code reviews and compliance studies and oversee contract administration.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the division, expand client relationships, and build out the architectural team over time.

The Successful Applicant

For the Principal Architect - Design-Build we are seeking:

  • 7-10+ years of progressive architectural experience.
  • Licensed Architect with the ability to obtain and maintain Colorado licensure.
  • Proven commercial architecture experience, ideally alongside residential or mixed project exposure.
  • Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, from initial design through construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents, building codes, consultant coordination, and contract administration.
  • Excellent client-facing, project management, communication, and leadership capabilities.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to balance hands-on design responsibilities with the strategic leadership of an architectural practice.
