Job Description

The Asset Manager will report to the Head of Asset Management and take ownership of a diverse portfolio of distressed and underperforming real estate assets. This individual will partner closely with third-party operating partners while driving strategic initiatives that enhance portfolio value and performance.

  • Oversee and hold third-party operating partners accountable for operational and financial performance across the portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain reporting frameworks, dashboards, and performance metrics to provide leadership with clear portfolio insights.
  • Lead acquisitions and dispositions, including underwriting, due diligence, market analysis, and transaction execution.
  • Identify and implement value-enhancement, repositioning, stabilisation, and exit strategies for underperforming assets.
  • Prepare investment memorandums, asset business plans, annual budgets, and ongoing performance reviews.
  • Monitor market trends, leasing activity, capital markets, and comparable transactions to inform investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with finance, accounting, legal, and external stakeholders on capital expenditure initiatives, leasing matters, and portfolio reporting.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Asset Manager should have:

  • Strong experience with asset management, particularly in the multifamily sector.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and budgeting for asset performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems for asset management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.For the Asset Manager we are seeking:
  • 7+ years of commercial real estate asset management experience.
  • Experience across office, multifamily, student housing, or other institutional-quality real estate asset classes.
  • Previous exposure to distressed assets, workouts, special servicing, foreclosure-related assets, or complex real estate situations is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of investment structures including fee simple ownership, preferred equity, and alternative capital solutions.
  • Proven experience supporting or leading acquisition and disposition transactions.
  • Advanced financial modelling, underwriting, and analytical capabilities with strong Excel proficiency.
  • Ability to build reporting processes and communicate investment performance effectively to senior stakeholders.
  • Commercially minded, decisive, and comfortable operating within a fast-paced investment environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
