Job Description

The Automation and Controls Engineer II will be responsible for designing, developing, programming, and supporting manufacturing equipment and automation systems that improve production efficiency, quality, and safety. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will oversee projects from concept through implementation while providing hands-on technical expertise in controls, equipment design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Design and implement manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and process improvements.
  • Program and interface with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and electromechanical systems.
  • Lead equipment development projects from concept through production deployment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues while supporting maintenance activities.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and DFMA principles to improve operational performance.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate is a technically strong and hands-on engineer with experience supporting automated manufacturing environments. They will possess excellent problem-solving skills, strong controls and equipment knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively across engineering and production teams.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience programming PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and industrial control systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, automation, and equipment design.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting ability with both mechanical and electrical systems.
