Job Description

The Automation & Controls Engineer will report directly into the Maintenance & Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Support and promote a strong safety culture through proactive identification and mitigation of workplace risks.
  • Troubleshoot process control and equipment-related issues to improve operational reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain and update P&IDs, I/O drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Upgrade and maintain process control computers and networks in alignment with IT/OT standards.
  • Lead and support control system modifications and capital projects involving DCS and quality control systems.
  • Manage engineering and change-management processes for new and existing equipment.
  • Partner with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Provide after-hours support for process control-related issues when required

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in process controls engineering or a related field.
  • Strong interest in automation, control systems, and industrial computing environments.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, AutoCAD LT, defect detection, or gauging systems is highly desirable.
