Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of custom automation equipment, robotic work cells, and machinery modifications. This position will be responsible for creating innovative and cost-effective mechanical solutions while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality systems for customers.

Job Description



Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robotic work cells and industrial automation equipment from concept through detailed design.
  • Create mechanical drawings, models, assemblies, and manufacturing documentation using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Design machine modifications, upgrades, and custom options for existing equipment platforms.
  • Develop pneumatic systems and select appropriate components for machine applications.
  • Specify sensors and related electrical components to support automation systems.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses to validate component and system performance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Support proposal development and technical solutions for customer applications.
  • Ensure designs are functional, manufacturable, cost-effective, and delivered within project timelines.

The Successful Applicant



Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Experience designing custom machinery, automation equipment, or robotic systems.
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic system design and component selection.
  • Experience integrating sensors, automation components, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations and troubleshoot complex mechanical designs.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Experience within industrial automation, custom machinery, machine building, robotics, or capital equipment environments preferred.
