Job Description

  • Lead all on-site bridge construction and rehabilitation activities from project inception through completion.
  • Coordinate daily operations with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Ensure projects are executed safely and in compliance with OSHA, DOT, NJDOT, and company safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain short-term and long-term construction schedules.
  • Monitor project productivity, manpower allocation, equipment utilization, and material deliveries.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control, adherence to specifications, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage subcontractor performance and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve field challenges, minimizing project delays and cost impacts.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, owners, inspectors, and design teams.
  • Mentor and supervise foremen, field engineers, and craft personnel.
  • Support project budgeting efforts through effective labor and resource management.

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on bridge, heavy civil, or transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Proven track record managing bridge construction, rehabilitation, structural concrete, steel erection, and/or transportation projects.
  • Strong understanding of NJDOT specifications, construction methods, and project delivery processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple crews, subcontractors, and vendors simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and project reporting tools.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout New Jersey.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required.
