Job Description

  • Oversee all on-site bridge construction and rehabilitation activities from project initiation through completion.
  • Manage field crews, subcontractors, equipment, and material resources to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved.
  • Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate daily activities with Project Managers, Engineers, Inspectors, Owners, and Regulatory Agencies.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify quality standards, contract compliance, and project specifications are being met.
  • Review and interpret plans, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
  • Identify and proactively resolve construction, logistical, and scheduling challenges.
  • Monitor production rates, labor performance, and project costs to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Lead project meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Superintendent or Senior Foreman managing bridge construction or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience delivering DOT, municipal, transportation, or public infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of bridge construction methods, structural concrete, steel erection, excavation, utility coordination, and roadway work.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large field teams and multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and quality control procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction schedules.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with the capacity to build relationships across project teams.
  • Experience with NJDOT projects is highly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
