Job Description



Production Operations

  • Direct and coordinate daily manufacturing activities across multiple production shifts.
  • Ensure production schedules are executed efficiently while meeting quality, safety, and delivery objectives.
  • Oversee manufacturing processes involving chemical compounds, precious metals, blending operations, and related production activities.
  • Coordinate material movement between production, laboratory, order fulfillment, and wastewater treatment operations.
  • Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.



Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the department.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of chemical materials.
  • Maintain compliance with Quality Management System requirements and established operating procedures.
  • Review and support corrective and preventive actions to improve operational performance and compliance.



Team Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, train, and develop production employees across all assigned shifts.
  • Establish clear daily and weekly priorities while effectively communicating production goals and expectations.
  • Support employee performance management, including training, development, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Assist production personnel in resolving technical and operational issues.
  • Provide operational coverage and hands-on support during staffing shortages or employee absences.



Process Improvement & Engineering Support

  • Partner with technical and engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes, safety performance, and production efficiency.
  • Collect, analyze, and report operational data to support continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projects.
  • Assist in the implementation of new processes, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Review and recommend updates to standard operating procedures, process documentation, and work instructions.
  • Support the transfer and implementation of new production activities and blending operations.



Inventory & Equipment Management

  • Monitor raw material and production supply requirements to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Coordinate purchasing and replenishment activities with appropriate departments.
  • Oversee production equipment performance and initiate maintenance requests as needed.
  • Support budgeting efforts by monitoring operational expenditures and resource utilization.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing or chemical processing environment.
  • Experience leading production teams in a regulated industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of chemical handling procedures and manufacturing safety practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS), technical specifications, and operating procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise systems such as SAP.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound operational and personnel decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid mathematical skills for production calculations and process control activities.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Ten or more years of experience in chemical manufacturing, metals processing, or a related industrial production environment.
  • Experience supervising multi-shift production operations.
  • Knowledge of precious metals processing or specialty chemical manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting engineering projects, process improvements, or manufacturing optimization initiatives.
  • Formal training in chemical safety, hazardous materials handling, or environmental compliance.
