Job Description

The Chief Estimator will:

  • Lead and manage the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure accuracy and feasibility of estimates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor bids for completeness and compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor and update cost databases to reflect current market trends and pricing.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and team members.
  • Ensure all estimates are completed within deadlines and align with company objectives.

The Successful Applicant

The Chief Estimator should be able to:

  • 8+ years of estimating experience, preferably at a commercial GC
  • Strong ability to understand blueprints conceptually
  • Ability to lead a team of other estimating professionals
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field
