The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project delivery from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Description

  • Manage multiple civil construction projects from award through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Oversee contract administration, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and quality standards.
  • Review and approve subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction activities and resolve field-related issues.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management and clients.
  • Manage project financial performance, including forecasting, cost tracking, billing, and profitability analysis.
  • Support business development efforts by assisting with estimating, proposal reviews, and client relationship management.
  • Mentor and develop project engineers, assistant project managers, and field personnel.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5-10+ years of project management experience within heavy civil, sitework, infrastructure, utilities, roadway, bridge, or public works construction.
  • Proven track record managing projects ranging from $5M to $50M+ in value.
  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
  • Experience working with municipal, county, state, and private-sector clients.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets and forecasts.
  • Knowledge of New Jersey construction regulations, permitting processes, and safety requirements is highly desirable.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Northern New Jersey.
