Save Job Back to Search Job Description Summary Similar JobsOpportunity to work with top utility contractor in New JerseyFinancial and career advancement opportunityAbout Our ClientOur client is a top civil utility contractor in New Jersey, with 50 year history of servicing the New Jersey Utility market.Job DescriptionManage day-to-day field operations for utility and civil construction projects.Supervise and coordinate crews installing water, sewer, storm drain, and related underground utility systems.Plan and schedule labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to maximize efficiency and productivity.Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and local regulations.Conduct daily site inspections and enforce safety standards and company policies.Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, utility companies, and municipal agencies.Monitor project schedules and proactively resolve field issues to avoid delays.Track production, labor costs, equipment utilization, and project progress.Lead weekly toolbox talks, safety meetings, and pre-task planning sessions.Maintain accurate daily reports, job logs, and documentation.Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.Ensure quality control standards are met throughout project execution.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantA successful Civil Superintendent should have:5+ years of experience as a Superintendent managing heavy civil and utility construction projects.Extensive experience with underground utilities, including:Water mainsSanitary sewer systemsStormwater systemsForce mainsUtility relocationsStrong knowledge of excavation, trenching, shoring, grading, and site development activities.Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans, specifications, and utility profiles.Familiarity with OSHA regulations and utility safety requirements.Proven leadership experience managing multiple crews and subcontractors.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Preferred QualificationsOSHA 30 Certification.Experience with municipal, DOT, and public infrastructure projects.NCCER or other construction management certifications.Knowledge of GPS machine control and modern construction technologies.Experience with project scheduling software and construction management systems.What's on OfferCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary - up to $160k in basePerformance-based bonus opportunitiesComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid vacation and holidaysVehicle allowance or company vehicleCareer advancement opportunities with a growing organizationInterested?
