Job Description

  • Manage all on-site construction activities from project mobilization through completion.
  • Lead and supervise field crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators.
  • Coordinate daily work plans to ensure project milestones and schedules are achieved.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address delays, conflicts, or operational challenges.
  • Maintain a strong focus on job site safety and enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site inspections.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment utilization, and workforce allocation.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, inspectors, and clients.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure work is executed correctly.
  • Manage quality control efforts and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Track production quantities and provide regular progress updates to project leadership.
  • Assist with change order documentation, project reporting, and project closeout activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and municipal representatives.

The Successful Applicant

  • A successful Civil Superintendent should have:
  • 7+ years of superintendent, foreman, or field leadership experience within civil construction.
  • Experience managing heavy civil, site development, excavation, underground utility, roadway, paving, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, scheduling, and field operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Experience with construction management software, daily reporting systems, and project documentation tools preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout Southern New Jersey.
