Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are looking to add an experienced Civil/Environmental Estimator to their team in Mayville, NJ.

Job Description

Hiring Need / Day to DayThe Civil/Environmental Estimator will play a key role in developing competitive bids and cost estimates for a variety of environmental remediation and civil construction projects. This individual will collaborate closely with operations, project management, and executive leadership to evaluate opportunities and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for civil and environmental construction projects.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotations.
  • Develop labor, equipment, and material pricing estimates.
  • Analyze project risks and identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Participate in bid strategy meetings and proposal development.
  • Coordinate with project managers and field personnel to validate production assumptions.
  • Assist in preparing scopes of work, bid packages, and project schedules.
  • Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
  • Support project handoff activities upon award.

The Successful Applicant

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of estimating experience within civil construction, environmental remediation, heavy highway, earthwork, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods.
  • Experience with quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid preparation.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
