Job Description

  • Create, modify, and optimize CMM and automated inspection programs using CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Perform program validation, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure accurate inspection results.
  • Support inspection activities for precision-machined components using a variety of metrology equipment.
  • Analyze measurement data, generate detailed inspection reports, and communicate findings to support production and engineering teams.
  • Conduct GR&R studies, correlation analysis, and verification of inspection methods and systems.
  • Design operator-friendly interfaces and prompts to improve inspection efficiency and usability.
  • Assemble, calibrate, qualify, and maintain CMM stylus systems, fixtures, and related inspection equipment.
  • Identify and implement fixturing solutions to support accurate inspection of complex components.
  • Maintain documentation including inspection plans, calibration records, validation reports, and quality records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and process enhancement.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO-regulated procedures, quality standards, and internal processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, machining, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges.

The Successful Applicant

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience programming CMM systems using automated inspection software.
  • Certification or advanced training in inspection software such as Calypso, PC-DMIS, Modus, ATOS, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models, and geometric tolerancing.
  • Ability to perform GR&R studies, measurement system analysis, and inspection validation activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical software tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, machining, or quality environment is highly preferred.
