Job Description

  • Develop, validate, modify, and troubleshoot CMM programs for new and existing products.
  • Program and operate CMM equipment using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar metrology software platforms.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, customer specifications, and advanced GD&T requirements.
  • Establish effective inspection strategies including datum structures, alignments, probing methods, and measurement techniques.
  • Perform dimensional inspections utilizing CMMs, vision systems, and precision measurement equipment.
  • Execute First Article Inspections (FAIs) and prepare detailed inspection documentation, including AS9102 reports when required.
  • Create inspection plans and automated measurement routines to support validation activities and production programs.
  • Conduct Gage R&R studies, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and process capability evaluations.
  • Analyze dimensional data and provide actionable feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Participate in design reviews by identifying inspectability concerns, tolerance challenges, and measurement risks.
  • Support fixture design and inspection setup development.
  • Coordinate calibration and verification activities for inspection equipment.
  • Maintain inspection records to meet customer, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and training related to metrology, measurement techniques, and automated inspection systems.

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of CMM programming and metrology experience.
  • Experience with ZEISS or Hexagon CMM platforms.
  • Experience programming Micro-Vu or other vision inspection systems.
  • Injection molding, tooling, medical device, or highly regulated manufacturing experience.
  • Exposure to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or similar quality environments.
  • Experience with CAD-to-CMM programming, model-based inspection, or offline programming.
  • Formal GD&T training, ASQ certifications, or related technical credentials.
  • Must be eligible to work on ITAR-regulated projects (U.S. Citizen, Green Card Holder, Refugee, or Asylee status required).
