Job Description

  • Lead and oversee daily CMM operations and dimensional inspection activities on the manufacturing floor.
  • Manage inspection priorities to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Ensure inspection programs are validated, maintained, and executed accurately to customer specifications.
  • Serve as the primary quality resource for production teams, supporting problem-solving and nonconformance investigations.
  • Drive consistency in blueprint interpretation, GD&T application, and inspection methods across the operation.
  • Develop and deliver training programs focused on inspection techniques, metrology tools, and quality standards.
  • Mentor employees to strengthen measurement capabilities and promote quality ownership.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing dimensional issues and increasing inspection efficiency.
  • Partner with production, engineering, and quality leadership to improve manufacturing performance and quality outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of CMM programming and dimensional inspection experience within a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in GD&T, blueprint reading, and dimensional inspection best practices.
  • Experience with PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar CMM programming software.
  • Solid understanding of machining processes, manufacturing workflows, and inspection methodologies.
  • Proficiency using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, optical comparators, and portable CMM equipment.
  • Proven ability to coach, train, and develop team members.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience.
  • Experience within aerospace, defense, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO standards, SPC methodologies, and First Article Inspection processes.
