Job Description

This position will report directly into the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and be responsible for

  • Supporting machining processes and maintaining manufacturing equipment performance
  • Collaborating with engineering and production teams to optimize product design for manufacturability
  • Analyzing and planning equipment and tooling requirements for machine shop operations
  • Creating and updating mechanical drawings in line with current design standards
  • Developing and maintaining work instructions and manufacturing documentation
  • Implementing engineering change orders (ECOs) and tracking updates through production
  • Working hands-on with technicians and assemblers to identify root causes and process improvements
  • Training manufacturing personnel on new and revised processes
  • Designing and improving work cell layouts within a Lean manufacturing environment
  • Designing fixtures using CAD software to support production efficiency
  • Recommending and evaluating equipment, tooling, and materials for capability improvements
  • Preparing capital project justifications and supporting investment decisions
  • Leading equipment implementation and validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ)
  • Supporting new product introduction through capacity planning and capability assessment
  • Reviewing and dispositioning non-conforming materials

The Successful Applicant

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting machining processes or machine shop operations
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • 5-axis machining knowledge strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in CAD for fixture or tooling design
  • Experience with process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) and equipment implementation
  • Strong problem-solving skills with hands-on troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively across engineering, production, and management teams
