Job Description

  • Support CNC machining operations and provide technical expertise to the machine shop
  • Develop, review, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and product quality
  • Analyze tooling, equipment, and workflow requirements to enhance production capabilities
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including work instructions and mechanical drawings
  • Implement and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff to identify root causes and drive improvements
  • Design fixtures and tooling using CAD software
  • Recommend and support new equipment acquisition, installation, and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing practices, including optimized work cell layouts
  • Train manufacturing personnel on updated processes and best practices
  • Support new product introduction by evaluating manufacturability and resource requirements
  • Review and disposition non-conforming materials in collaboration with quality teams
  • Provide input on production planning, cost estimates, and manufacturing feasibility

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with CNC machining processes and equipment
  • Familiarity with CAD software and fixture/tooling design
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of engineering change management processes (ECOs)
  • Experience working in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments is highly preferred
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced technical setting
