Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Process Planning to support the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for precision-engineered products. This position is responsible for translating product designs into efficient manufacturing methods, creating process documentation, supporting new product introduction, and driving operational improvements across the manufacturing environment.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Review engineering designs for manufacturability, tolerances, quality requirements, and cost considerations.
  • Develop and define manufacturing processes for components and assemblies.
  • Determine fixturing and gauging requirements and coordinate design or procurement activities.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing process routes and bills of material within the ERP system.
  • Review Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and update process documentation accordingly.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and operations teams to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities related to production and quality issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, workflow optimisation, and schedule attainment.
  • Provide technical support to production personnel and machine operators as needed.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • Experience in CNC machining and manufacturing process development.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, workholding, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Knowledge of machine shop practices, inspection methods, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Experience with CAD and solid modelling software.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
