Job Description

  • Develop and optimize CNC machining programs using CAD/CAM software.
  • Create manufacturing processes for precision machined components.
  • Support engineering teams by providing machining cycle time estimates and tooling cost assessments.
  • Set up, validate, and troubleshoot new CNC programs and machining processes.
  • Investigate and resolve quality, tooling, and process-related issues on the production floor.
  • Provide technical guidance to machinists, operators, and setup technicians as required.
  • Select, specify, and procure tooling to support machining operations.
  • Create and modify toolpaths while establishing optimal cutting parameters.
  • Assist with fixture and workholding design to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Generate setup documentation, tooling sheets, and process instructions for production personnel.
  • Recommend design-for-manufacturability improvements to enhance productivity and reduce cycle times.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and ISO standards.
  • Support production, prototype, and new product introduction activities as required.

The Successful Applicant

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education in manufacturing, engineering, or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of CNC machine setup experience and a minimum of 1 year of CNC programming experience.
  • Experience utilizing CAD/CAM software to create and modify CNC programs.
  • Understanding of G-Code and M-Code programming principles.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc Macro B programming and parametric programming concepts.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Experience working with machining fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing process development.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for modifying or creating component models.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities.
  • Experience using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and fixtures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and production teams.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
