Job Description

  • Assist with quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and bid preparation for commercial construction projects.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope requirements.
  • Solicit and analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing proposals.
  • Support the preconstruction team with budgeting, value engineering, and cost analysis activities.
  • Maintain and organize estimating databases, project records, and bid documentation.
  • Participate in project handoff meetings and collaborate with operations teams.
  • Help prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates for ground-up and renovation projects.
  • Work closely with senior estimators and leadership to develop estimating best practices and technical expertise.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Estimator should have:

  • 0-3 years of construction experience, including internships, co-ops, field experience, subcontractor experience, or design-related construction exposure.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent construction experience will also be considered.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Highly coachable with a desire to build a long-term career in estimating and preconstruction.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or Destini Estimator is a plus but not required.
