Job Description

  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, conceptual estimates, and competitive bid proposals
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and other project documents
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for tilt-wall, warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, and light industrial construction projects
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
  • Participate in bid reviews, scope analysis, and value engineering efforts
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving solutions during preconstruction
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Architects, Engineers, and Owners throughout the estimating process
  • Prepare conceptual budgets during early design and preconstruction phases
  • Review subcontractor proposals to ensure complete scope coverage
  • Assist with project turnover and handoff to operations teams upon award
  • Track market pricing, material costs, and labor trends
  • Support business development efforts through client presentations and preconstruction meetings

The Successful Applicant

  • 3+ years of estimating experience within commercial construction
  • Proven experience estimating tilt-wall and/or ground-up light industrial projects required
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods
  • Ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
  • Experience soliciting and leveling subcontractor bids
  • Proficiency with estimating software and construction management technology
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
