Job Description

  • Prepare detailed conceptual and hard bid estimates for restaurant, retail, fitness center, and commercial renovation projects.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, scope documents, and project requirements to develop accurate project budgets.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing across all trade divisions.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive cost breakdowns.
  • Collaborate closely with project executives, operations teams, and leadership throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Review value engineering opportunities and identify cost-saving solutions.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and pricing for repeat clients and negotiated projects.
  • Maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships while tracking current market pricing.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously ranging from $1M to $5M in construction value.
  • Contribute to a collaborative estimating department consisting of experienced construction professionals.

The Successful Applicant

  • 7+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor.
  • Strong experience estimating restaurant construction projects is required.
  • Additional experience with retail, fitness center, hospitality, or commercial interior projects is highly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of all construction trade divisions and associated scopes of work.
  • Experience preparing estimates for projects ranging from approximately $1M to $5M.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated career stability and long-term employment history.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Lanham, Maryland.
