Controls Engineer - Aerospace - Enfield, CT

The Controls Engineer will report directly into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

• Design, program, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial control systems and automation equipment.
• Develop PLC programs from the ground up using ladder logic and support modifications to existing systems.
• Configure and support HMI interfaces and operator control systems.
• Diagnose electrical and control-related issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Support commissioning, startup, and validation of new manufacturing equipment and automation systems.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, panel designs, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
• Implement machine safety solutions including safety relays, interlocks, emergency stops, and safety scanners.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, safety, and quality enhancements.
