This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future architecture, standards, and scalability of next-generation manufacturing systems.Job DescriptionThe Controls Engineer will act as the organization's technical authority for controls and automation, owning the strategy, architecture, and implementation of complex manufacturing systems. The role combines hands-on engineering expertise with strategic influence, supporting everything from equipment development and commissioning through production-scale deployment and operational excellence.Define and standardise controls architecture, PLC platforms, HMI systems, and automation standards.Lead development of advanced motion control, drive systems, web handling, and process automation solutions.Architect SCADA, manufacturing data acquisition, SQL integration, and equipment connectivity strategies.Drive equipment commissioning, validation, safety compliance, and production readiness activities.Mentor engineering teams while providing technical leadership across internal and external stakeholders.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. They will bring deep technical expertise across industrial automation platforms, motion control, safety systems, and manufacturing integration, coupled with the ability to influence engineering direction in a high-growth environment.10+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or manufacturing equipment development.Expert PLC programming capabilities and experience with multiple major automation platforms, including Siemens.Strong background in SCADA architecture, with Ignition experience highly desirable.Advanced knowledge of servo systems, motion control, industrial networking, and machine safety standards.Demonstrated success leading complex technical initiatives and mentoring engineering teams.What's on OfferThis opportunity provides the chance to shape the controls strategy and automation roadmap of a rapidly scaling advanced manufacturing business.
