Job Description

Safety & Compliance

  • Design and implement equipment upgrades that minimize operational and safety risks.
  • Ensure manufacturing systems operate safely and comply with established standards.
  • Support initiatives that improve workplace ergonomics and reduce injury potential.



Quality & Validation

  • Develop automation and control solutions that enhance process capability and product quality.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to validate new equipment and process improvements.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation including validation protocols, technical studies, and reports.
  • Drive root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring quality issues.
  • Support training, documentation control, and standardization efforts across manufacturing operations.



Automation & Process Improvement

  • Design and execute electrical, controls, and automation upgrades for manufacturing equipment.
  • Identify and lead projects focused on cost reduction, defect reduction, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and optimise PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other automated systems.
  • Develop process controls and data collection systems that improve reliability and enable performance monitoring.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing operations and maintenance teams.
  • Manage automation and controls projects from concept through commissioning and ongoing support.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 1-4 years of experience for Engineer-level candidates.
  • 5+ years of experience for Senior Engineer-level candidates.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience programming and supporting Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
  • Working knowledge of industrial networking, vision systems, and manufacturing data collection technologies.
  • CAD experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise software systems.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
