Job Description

  • Perform dam safety inspections, evaluations, and risk assessments in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for dams, spillways, and related structures
  • Support design, rehabilitation, and modification projects for aging infrastructure
  • Prepare engineering reports, technical documentation, and regulatory submissions
  • Assist with Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and dam safety compliance programs
  • Collaborate with internal teams (civil, geotechnical, structural engineers) and external stakeholders
  • Participate in field investigations, site visits, and condition assessments
  • Provide technical input on dam safety regulations and industry best practices

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 3-10+ years of experience in dam safety, water resources, or hydraulic engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain
  • Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS)
  • Familiarity with FEMA, FERC, or state dam safety regulations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
