Job Description

The successful candidate will partner closely with investment banking, origination, portfolio management, and risk teams to assess transaction structures, identify key credit risks, and support prudent growth across the real assets portfolio. The position offers significant visibility with senior business leaders and involvement in high-profile transactions across multiple asset classes.

  • Review and approve credit proposals involving commercial real estate, infrastructure, asset-backed transactions, and other real asset financing opportunities.
  • Perform independent credit analysis of sponsors, borrowers, projects, and underlying collateral.
  • Assess transaction structures, cash flow generation, leverage levels, covenant packages, and repayment sources.
  • Evaluate portfolio risks and monitor existing exposures to identify emerging credit concerns.
  • Provide effective challenge to underwriting assumptions and transaction recommendations.
  • Partner with front office and risk stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Participate in credit committees and present recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure transactions comply with internal risk frameworks, credit policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors affecting real asset investments.
  • Support portfolio reviews, stress testing exercises, and risk reporting initiatives.
  • Contribute to enhancements of credit policies, risk methodologies, and governance frameworks.

The Successful Applicant

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Real Estate, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in credit risk, structured finance, commercial real estate lending, project finance, infrastructure finance, or related areas.
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate and real asset financing structures.
  • Experience evaluating complex credit transactions and providing independent risk assessments.
  • Advanced financial statement analysis and cash flow modelling skills.
  • Knowledge of risk rating methodologies, credit approval processes, and portfolio management principles.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with experience interacting with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and make balanced credit decisions in a fast-paced environment.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience covering multiple real asset sectors, including commercial real estate, infrastructure, transportation, energy, digital infrastructure, or specialised asset classes.
  • Previous credit approval authority or credit committee experience.
  • Familiarity with syndicated lending and structured financing transactions.
  • CFA, FRM, CPA, or related professional designation.
  • Experience within a large financial institution, investment bank, or alternative credit platform.

What's on Offer

  • $250,000 - $275,000 base salary.
