Job Description

  • Develop and implement strong food safety and quality assurance programs across all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain product quality and integrity.
  • Oversee audits, inspections, and certifications to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement in food safety processes.
  • Train and mentor staff on food safety policies and best practices.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Stay updated on industry standards and emerging trends in food safety.

The Successful Applicant

- Proven leadership of a plant quality team, with the standard set in person on the floor.

- USDA/FSIS experience in a meat or poultry establishment, including HACCP, SSOPs, and in-plant inspection.

- A record of building prevention into the process, not only catching failures after the fact.

- Sound product-disposition decisions against defined criteria and data.

- Ability to read process data as leading indicators and act before the issue reaches finished goods.

- 12+ years in food manufacturing food safety and quality, including leading and developing people.

- Works across the floor, the leadership team, FSIS, and customers. Can set direction with incomplete information.
