Job Description

  • Lead operations across multiple manufacturing facilities
  • Develop and execute operational strategies supporting business objectives
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive growth and scalability
  • Oversee production, quality, supply chain, logistics, maintenance, and engineering
  • Establish and maintain KPI performance across all sites
  • Drive safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives
  • Standardize operational processes and manufacturing best practices
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives
  • Improve throughput, efficiency, capacity utilization, and profitability
  • Support precision manufacturing operations with complex product requirements
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams on strategic initiatives
  • Develop and mentor plant managers and operational leaders
  • Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development
  • Manage operational budgeting, capital planning, and resource optimization
  • Analyze manufacturing metrics to support data-driven decision making
  • Drive investments in automation, equipment, and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks across facilities
  • Travel approximately 30% domestically and internationally

The Successful Applicant

A successful Director of Operations should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Manufacturing, or related field
  • MBA preferred
  • 10-15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
  • 5+ years leading multi-site manufacturing operations
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in precision machining, engineered products, bearings, motion control, or metal manufacturing
  • Background in highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Proven success implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Track record driving operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Strong experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams
  • Demonstrated change management and organizational transformation experience
  • Financial and operational leadership expertise including capital planning and cost control
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, multi-site environment
