Job Description

  • Provide executive leadership for all operational aspects of commercial construction projects
  • Oversee Project Managers, Superintendents, and operational staff across multiple project teams
  • Drive project performance related to safety, quality, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, procedures, and performance standards
  • Monitor project financial performance, forecasting, budgeting, and risk management activities
  • Lead workforce planning, staffing strategies, and resource allocation decisions
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve operational efficiency
  • Partner with preconstruction and business development teams to support growth objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, consultants, developers, and industry partners
  • Provide executive oversight for contract administration, procurement, and project controls
  • Mentor and develop construction leaders while creating a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Lead operational reviews and provide strategic reporting to executive leadership
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and overall project delivery performance
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, contractual obligations, and safety requirements

The Successful Applicant

  • Extensive experience acting in a Director of Operations capacity with a commercial construction general contractor
  • Proven experience managing both ground-up and interior construction projects
  • Strong background in healthcare, Class A office, education, institutional, high-rise, or complex and large-scale commercial construction
  • Demonstrated success leading Project Managers, Superintendents, and field operations teams
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
