About Our Client

A global manufacturer of industrial automation and plastics processing equipment is seeking a Director of Operations to lead its largest U.S. manufacturing and assembly operation. The company designs and builds highly engineered automation systems, robotics, material handling solutions, and specialized production equipment that serve manufacturers across a variety of industries.

Job Description

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for manufacturing, assembly, purchasing, and parts operations.
  • Lead a team of functional managers overseeing approximately 60-70 employees.
  • Improve operational efficiency, workflow, and production planning.
  • Drive initiatives focused on throughput improvements, capacity expansion, and delivery performance.
  • Establish metrics and accountability systems to support operational excellence.
  • Partner closely with engineering, sales, supply chain, and senior leadership teams.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
  • Ensure production schedules, customer commitments, quality standards, and financial objectives are consistently achieved.
  • Support long-term growth initiatives while maintaining a culture focused on employee engagement and team development.

The Successful Applicant

  • 10+ years of manufacturing, operations, or plant leadership experience.
  • Proven success leading production teams within an engineered equipment, automation, robotics, machinery, or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing cross-functional operations including manufacturing, procurement, materials, and assembly.
  • Strong background improving throughput, productivity, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience developing teams and driving accountability.
  • Engineering degree preferred. Backgrounds in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, Mechatronics, Plastics Engineering, or related disciplines are highly valued.
  • High-potential Senior Operations Managers with strong leadership potential and relevant industry experience will also be considered.
