About Our Client

Our client is a well-established producer of high-output alternators and power management systems serving automotive, industrial, and military markets. Based in the northern suburbs of Chicago, the company has experienced consistent growth and is expanding its engineering team with a professional who will oversee Engineering Change Orders, manage Bills of Materials, and help maintain high standards in design quality.

Job Description

  • Manage CAD Operators/Drafters and Document Control personnel
  • Lead Material Review Board meetings with bi-weekly change notice reports
  • Oversee the preparation, review, processing, and coordinating of approval of ECOs
  • Create and update new and existing documentation to properly reflect design changes and ultimately adjustments to carious BOMs and drawings
  • Communicate and correspond with engineering, design, drafting, and production teams for BOM consistency
  • Verify that the ERP system reflects proper changes
  • Maintain database of all ECO statuses, managing archives

The Successful Applicant

  • ITAR Compliance
  • Bachelors or Associates degree acceptable depending on years of experience
  • Engineering degree strongly preferred - Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical
  • 3-5+ years of experience managing ECOs and Bills of Materials
  • Knowledge of CAD software - Creo preferred (Do not need to have skillsets of drafting and design, rather reviewing technical drawings)
  • Ability to maintain several projects and tasks at once regarding ECOs
