Job Description

The Electrical Controls Engineer will:

  • Design and develop electrical control systems for automated equipment
  • Program and troubleshoot PLC systems using ladder logic
  • Create and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Integrate motion control, robotics, and vision systems into automation solutions
  • Design and assemble control panels for automated machinery
  • Provide technical support to customers, both remotely and on-site
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues to ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions

The Successful Applicant

The Electrical Controls Engineer should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field preferred, but not required
  • Proven experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Fanuc, Direct Logic)
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory and control systems
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics
  • Experience with CAD or electrical design software (AutoCAD or similar preferred)
  • Knowledge of servo systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Familiarity with safety and motion control systems (E-Stops, interlocks, etc.)
  • Exposure to robotics is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to support customers directly
