Job Description

  • Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, emergency power, and low-voltage systems.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, short-circuit studies, and coordination analyses using industry-standard software.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, drawings, and technical reports for project delivery.
  • Develop equipment selections and schedules for electrical systems and components.
  • Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural disciplines.
  • Conduct site visits, field surveys, and existing building assessments to support project development.
  • Review contractor submittals, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration support throughout project execution.
  • Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA standards, local building codes, and client requirements.
  • Attend client meetings and collaborate with internal and external project stakeholders throughout all phases of design and construction.
  • Support project managers in maintaining project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

The Successful Applicant

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • 3-8+ years of experience in MEP consulting engineering.
    • Experience designing electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, higher education, laboratory, multifamily, life sciences, or mission-critical facilities.
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
    • Experience with electrical analysis and design software such as SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar platforms.
    • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards, and applicable building codes.
    • EIT certification preferred; PE licence or ability to obtain licensure highly desirable.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams and manage multiple priorities.
