Job Description

The Engineering Manager will provide technical and people leadership across manufacturing engineering, product development, tooling design, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, sales, tooling, and customer-facing teams, this individual will be responsible for production processes, supporting new product development, implementing tooling and process improvements, and ensuring the successful manufacture of high-quality precision bearing products.

  • Lead manufacturing engineering activities, tooling development, and new product introduction from concept through production.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that enhance productivity, reduce costs, improve quality, and minimise scrap.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Tool Room, and Sales teams to resolve technical challenges and support customer requirements.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing engineering team through coaching, mentoring, and resource planning.
  • Lead engineering projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital investments while ensuring on-time and on-budget execution.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate is an experienced manufacturing engineering leader with a strong background in precision manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and industrial production environments. They will possess a blend of technical expertise and leadership capability, with a proven track record of improving manufacturing performance, developing engineering teams, and implementing process and tooling improvements that drive quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in bearing design, metal stamping, progressive die tooling, machining, assembly processes, and manufacturing engineering principles.
  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams, manage projects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working within ISO-certified manufacturing operations, supporting quality systems, process validation, and corrective action activities.
  • Proficiency with engineering and design tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, GD&T, and manufacturing process development, combined with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
