The Estimator will play a key role within the Preconstruction Department, helping develop budgets, estimates, scopes, schedules, and proposals for a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with operations, project management, and executive leadership while helping secure and win new work throughout North and South Carolina.

Job Description

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to estimate costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on budgets.
  • Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and records.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings to gather project-specific information.
  • Ensure estimates comply with company standards and client requirements.

The Successful Applicant

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of estimating, preconstruction, or related construction experience
  • Experience on commercial construction projects
  • Understanding of CSI MasterFormat through Division 33
  • Ability to develop complete and accurate project estimates
  • Knowledge of local North Carolina and South Carolina subcontractor markets
  • Experience with public and private bidding environments
