Job Description

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and municipal construction projects.
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documents to identify project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate project scoping.
  • Source and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain a database of cost information for materials and labor.
  • Assist in value engineering to optimize project costs and efficiency.
  • Present cost estimates and proposals to stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
  • Monitor project budgets and adjust estimates as necessary to reflect changes in scope or conditions.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Estimator should have:

  • 5-15 years of construction estimating experience
  • Experience with commercial, institutional, or municipal projects
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and pricing
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
