We are seeking an experienced Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts, develop competitive bids, and help identify new project opportunities across a growing portfolio of commercial construction projects. This role offers significant visibility, direct interaction with leadership and clients, and the opportunity to play a key role in business growth.

Job Description

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive project bids for commercial construction projects.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate budgets and proposals.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
  • Identify and pursue new project opportunities alongside company leadership.
  • Participate in preconstruction planning, budgeting, and value engineering efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners.
  • Support the transition of awarded projects to the operations team.
  • Track market pricing, material costs, and labor trends to ensure estimate accuracy.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic growth initiatives and business development efforts.
  • Travel to project sites and client meetings within approximately a two-hour radius of Grover, NC.

The Successful Applicant

A successful applicant should have:

  • 5+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Experience estimating light industrial, commercial, retail, restaurant, church, or renovation/upfit projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, subcontractor scopes, and project budgeting.
  • Ability to review plans, specifications, and bid documents with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proven experience developing subcontractor and client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with preconstruction services and business development is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
