Job Description

The Estimator will be responsible for:

  • Preparing detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and bid proposals for commercial and federal construction projects.
  • Analyzing drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope, pricing, and risk factors.
  • Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitive and accurate bids.
  • Collaborating with project managers, operations teams, and leadership throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Participating in bid reviews, value engineering exercises, and project strategy discussions.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of market conditions, labor costs, material pricing, and industry trends.
  • Supporting multiple pursuits simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and submission requirements are met.
  • Assisting with cost planning, budgeting, and estimating best practices to improve bid success rates.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Estimator should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Estimating experience within commercial construction required; federal construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience developing comprehensive conceptual and hard-bid estimates.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Must be eligible to pass federal background checks and obtain access to secure facilities.
  • Previous experience supporting Pentagon, Department of Defense, or other federal agency projects is highly desirable.
