Job Description

The Estimator - Federal Projects - Bowie, MD will be responsible for:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for large-scale federal construction projects.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop accurate pricing strategies.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing while leveraging established industry relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities and winning bid strategies.
  • Assist in managing the estimating process from initial pursuit through final submission.
  • Support and mentor a junior estimator, helping to develop skills and improve team efficiency.
  • Work directly with senior leadership to contribute to business growth and project acquisition efforts.
  • Utilize Bluebeam, Adobe, and Microsoft Office to perform quantity takeoffs, document analysis, and proposal preparation.

The Successful Applicant

The Estimator - Federal Projects - Bowie, MD should have:

  • 5+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor.
  • Strong background pricing federal construction projects.
  • Established network of subcontractors and vendors within the DC, Maryland, and Virginia market.
  • Experience preparing competitive bids for government and secure facility projects.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior team members.
  • Ability to work primarily onsite in Bowie, MD with flexibility for one remote day per week after the onboarding period.

  • Base Salary: $130,000 - $135,000
  • Annual Bonus: Up to 20%
